Albertslund Outdoor Wall Lamp

Designed by Jens Møller-Jensen in 1963 for a residential project in Albertslund, Denmark, this wall light is timeless Danish design. It shares the key features of the iconic Albertslund post light — the anti-glare ring, three visible bolts and the distinctive Saturn-ring reflector — for soft, functional light with a modern, architectural expression.

Albertslund was one of Denmark's great planned suburbs of the 1960s, and architect Jens Møller-Jensen designed its public lighting as part of the urban plan itself — honest, durable fixtures meant to give the new town a calm, unified night-time identity. The design's signature is its horizontal "Saturn" ring, which catches and reflects the light so the fixture glows gently rather than glares, while the three exposed bolts state its construction plainly in the functionalist spirit. Louis Poulsen, the Copenhagen lighting house founded in 1874, has kept the family in production, and it still lights Danish streets and doorways today.

On the wall of a home, the Albertslund brings that same civic calm to an entrance, balcony or covered passage. The ring spreads a soft, even pool of light that flatters brick and render without hard shadows — mount one beside the front door at head height, or a pair in symmetry for a more formal welcome.
