The Kukasta Kukkaan Bag is a generous tote printed in Helsinki, with the Marimekko label sewn onto the front. Erja Hirvi painted the pattern in 2024 at her summer retreat, letting flowers appear as they do in nature. The Finnish name means from flower to flower, after bumblebees moving between summer blooms.
The bag is made from 100% organic cotton and measures 43 x 44 cm, in Pink / Off-White / Plum / Terracotta. Wash it at the stated temperature to keep the print crisp.
Carry it to the market, or keep it folded in a drawer for unplanned errands, and see the other textiles in the Marimekko collection.

Painted, not drawn
Loose brushwork keeps the flowers light and lively.
Printed in Helsinki
All pieces are printed at Marimekko's own factory in Helsinki.
Unbleached fibres
Tablecloth and towels keep the natural tone of the cloth.
Kitchen to market
Tea towels, tablecloth and a roomy cotton tote share the print.

A summer of painting
Hirvi painted the print at her summer retreat, fully immersed in flowers. The blooms are loosely drawn and appear in many forms, as they would in a meadow, drifting across the cloth.

For the summer table
The tablecloth is 100% unbleached organic cotton, 140 x 140 cm, with finished edges. It suits a square or round table and brings the print outdoors to a garden or terrace table on long summer evenings.

Towels and tote
The kitchen towels mix recycled cotton, organic cotton and linen, with a hanging loop on the long edge. The 43 x 44 cm tote is organic cotton with the Marimekko label sewn on the front.
