The Ferm Living Apple Ceramic Container takes the sculptural form of an apple and turns it into a small lidded keeper for treasures. Charmingly shaped, it works equally as a decorative object on a shelf and as a place to put things away safely.
It is made from glazed stoneware in Deep Red and measures Ø 10 cm with a height of 10 cm, weighing 0.2 kg. Wipe it with a damp cloth. Made in glazed stoneware, the container is intended for children of 8 years and older.
Keep it on a bedside table for hair clips and small finds, or group it with other ceramics from the Ferm Living collection.

Objects with a job
Each fruit is a decorative piece that also stores coins or small things.
Glazed stoneware body
A solid ceramic body with a glossy glaze gives the fruit weight and colour.
Graphic, simple shapes
Clean apple and pear outlines add a bold touch to shelves and desks.
Pairs that match
Money banks and containers share shapes and colours, so they group well.
Fruit as an object
The Apple and Pear pieces take two familiar fruits and turn them into simple sculptures. Their round, graphic forms in colours such as Deep Red and Cashmere bring character to a child's shelf, desk or bedside table.
Two money banks
The Apple Money Bank is 13 cm tall and the Pear Money Bank 18.5 cm, both 12 cm wide. Made in glazed stoneware, they give children a place to save coins and an object worth keeping on display.
Containers for treasures
The ceramic containers are smaller, 9.5 cm across, with the apple about 9.6 cm tall and the pear 13 cm. They are sized for small treasures such as hair clips, shells or tiny toys, and look just as good empty on a shelf.
Materials
- Glazed stoneware
- A dense ceramic with a glazed surface; wipe with a damp cloth.
- Coloured glazes
- Deep Red, Cashmere and the other glazes give each fruit its colour and a smooth surface.
- Ceramic weight
- At around 0.2–0.5 kg each, the pieces stand steadily on a shelf.
Ferm Living was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, who started out because she was missing wallpaper designs for her new house. The Apple and Pear ceramics were developed in the Copenhagen studio for its children's range, giving the fruit motif a practical use in the room.
