The Ferm Living Dedali Vase brings art and utility together in 3D printed ceramic, its labyrinth like top echoing the elaborate patterns of a maze. This compact version of the series keeps the same graphic surface in a smaller, more intimate format.
Made from glazed stoneware, it measures 15 cm in diameter and 18 cm in height and comes in Dark Brown. The perforated top holds stems in place, so it suits voluminous, Ikebana inspired arrangements as well as a single branch. Rinse in lukewarm water to clean. Marks and variations in the clay may occur due to the natural raw material and production technique. Registered design.
Group it with the other Dedali sizes for a sculptural still life, or set it on a shelf with pieces from the Ferm Living collection.

Dedali: 3D-printed stoneware with a labyrinth top
DesignerFerm Living design studio
Dedali takes its name from 'dédales', the French word for labyrinth. Ferm Living builds each piece in 3D-printed ceramic, so a maze-like pattern forms the top of the vases and the surface of the bowl, candle holder and floor vase. It comes in Off-white and Dark Brown stoneware.

Holds stems in place
The perforated maze top keeps flowers upright in a loose, Ikebana-like spread.
Printed, not moulded
3D printing builds the labyrinth in thin layers of clay.
Beautiful when empty
The pattern makes each piece a sculpture on a shelf.
A registered design
The vases, bowl and floor vase are Ferm Living registered designs.

A maze in clay
Dedali starts from the winding paths of a labyrinth. The pattern is built up by a 3D printer in clay, layer on layer, which gives the stoneware precise, detailed ridges and small variations from piece to piece.

Flowers in Ikebana style
The vases come in three heights, 11, 18 and 25 cm. Their labyrinth-like top holds each stem where you place it, so a few flowers or grasses spread into a full, airy arrangement. The Off-white versions are unglazed outside and glazed inside.

Bowl, candle and floor vase
The 34.5 cm bowl holds fruit or stands alone as a centrepiece. The candle holder takes a Ø22 mm candle. The 50 cm floor vase adds sculptural height to a corner or hallway, and is decorative only, as it is not watertight.
Materials
- 3D-printed stoneware
- Built in layers, so marks and variations in the clay are part of the technique.
- Unglazed and glazed finishes
- Off-white is matte outside and glazed inside; Dark Brown is glazed stoneware.
- Care
- Rinse vases and candle holder in lukewarm water, hand-wash the bowl, and wipe the floor vase with a damp cloth.
Ferm Living was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, who started out because she was missing wallpaper designs for her new house. Dedali is a registered design developed by the Ferm Living design studio in Copenhagen. Every piece is made in 3D-printed ceramic, joining a sculptural pattern and a practical use in one form.
