The ferm LIVING Flow Jug belongs to a series of purposefully imperfect tableware, made using traditional craftsmanship techniques with a distinctly modern sensibility. Its clean, simple lines are offset by a distinctive elongated handle that gives the jug a strong presence at the table.
Made from stoneware finished with a semi-matte reactive glaze, the jug measures 10 x 15 x 22cm and holds 1 litre, suited to serving water, juice or milk at breakfast or dinner. It comes in Off-white Speckle and Black.

Flow: perfectly imperfect stoneware with long handles
Designerferm LIVING design studio
Flow is ferm LIVING's series of perfectly imperfect tableware, made to modern sensibilities with traditional craft techniques. Stoneware pieces in a semi-matte reactive glaze, in Off-white Speckle or Black, run from plates and bowls to a jug, teapot and egg cups, with brass napkin rings alongside.

Imperfect on purpose
A reactive glaze gives every piece its own surface.

Imperfect on purpose
Flow is made with traditional craftsmanship to modern taste. A semi-matte reactive glaze reacts differently with each shape and its place in the kiln, so no two plates look quite alike, in Off-white Speckle or Black.
The long handle
The elongated handle is the Flow signature. It gives the 1 litre jug a strong outline, makes the 36 cl mug easy to hold, and sits as a pair on the 32 cm centrepiece. The milk jar takes a tall version of it.
Made in Cháozhou
ferm LIVING's ceramics are made in Cháozhou, China, known as the ceramic capital of China. Pieces are formed, trimmed by hand, fired for up to 7–8 hours, glazed and fired again for up to 12 hours.

- More porous than gloss, so fine cutlery marks may appear with use.
- Solid cast brass
- Used for the Flow Napkin Rings; wipe with a dry cloth and let it patinate.
ferm LIVING was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, who started out because she was missing wallpaper designs for her new house. Flow was designed in its Copenhagen studio and produced with its ceramics partner in Cháozhou, where each piece passes through several skilled hands.
