The ferm LIVING Melt Wall Clock takes its cue from surrealist art, its case warped into a fluid, almost liquid silhouette that gives the impression of a clock caught mid-melt. Equal parts timepiece and wall sculpture, it makes a striking, artistic addition to any room.
Made from FSC-certified poplar burl veneer over an MDF core, the clock measures 28 x 33 cm and comes with a hook for hanging. It runs on a single AA battery, not included, and is offered in a curated range of finishes, from cashmere and blue to dark stained burl, natural burl and black marble, with slight variation in grain and colour between pieces.

A clock caught melting
Melt is inspired by surrealism, where clocks lose their rigid shape. The case has a warped, fluid outline that makes the clock look as if it is slowly melting on the wall, turning a functional object into wall art.
Painted, burl or stone
The painted versions are FSC Mix-certified MDF and weigh 1.4 kg. The burl versions use FSC poplar burl veneer over an MDF core at 2.6 kg, and the black marble version weighs 5.4 kg, with natural variation in every stone.
Clock and sculpture
At 28 x 33 x 4 cm, Melt works on its own above a desk or sideboard, or among framed pictures on a gallery wall. It runs on one AA battery, which is not included, and comes with a hook for hanging.

ferm LIVING was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, and its in-house design studio there develops the collections. Melt is a registered studio design inspired by surrealism, first made in painted MDF and later reimagined in burl wood and marble.

One AA battery, which is not included.
How do I hang it?
A hook is included. Use a wall fixing rated for the weight, up to 5.4 kg for marble.
How do I clean it?
Painted versions: a damp cloth. Burl and marble versions: a dry cloth.
Why does my burl clock look different?
Burl veneer is natural wood, so colour and figure vary from clock to clock.
