The Ferm Living Mokuri Vase is mouth blown in a wood mould, a process that transfers the natural bark texture straight onto the glass and forms the faceted silhouette and vertical lines. Its name draws on the Japanese word moku, meaning wood, and every piece carries the impression of the material that made it.
The vase is made from mouth blown 100% GRS certified recycled glass and measures 18 x 25 x 14.5 cm, available in Clear, Black and White. Rinse in lukewarm water to clean. As this is a handcrafted piece, variations in texture and tone may occur. Registered design.
Use the three colourways together for a layered grouping, or set one on a windowsill with stems from the Ferm Living collection.

Mokuri: recycled glass blown into a wooden mould
DesignerFerm Living design studio
Mokuri vases are mouth-blown from 100% GRS-certified recycled glass into a wood mould, which presses the bark texture onto the glass and forms the faceted silhouette and vertical lines. The name draws on moku, Japanese for wood. Two heights, 15 and 25 cm, in Clear, Black and White.

Bark pressed into glass
The wooden mould leaves its texture on every vase.
Recycled and mouth-blown
Made from 100% GRS-certified recycled glass.
No two alike
Hand blowing and a wooden mould make each piece unique.
Two sizes to group
15 cm and 25 cm work together on a table.

The mark of wood
Each vase is blown into a mould carved from wood. Hot glass takes on the bark's texture, its faceted silhouette and vertical lines, so the finished vase carries an impression of the material that shaped it. Moku means wood in Japanese.

Recycled glass, blown by mouth
Mokuri is made from 100% GRS-certified recycled glass and mouth blown by a glassmaker. Because the process is manual, small variations in shape and thickness occur, and every vase is slightly different.

Sizes and colours
The small vase is 16 x 15 x 13 cm and the large 18 x 25 x 14.5 cm. Clear shows the texture with water and stems, while Black and White read as solid objects. The design is registered.
Materials
- Recycled glass
- 100% GRS-certified; rinse in lukewarm water.
- Wooden mould
- Transfers bark texture and facets to the glass.
- Mouth blowing
- A handmade process, so variations occur.
Ferm Living was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by Trine Andersen, and its collections are developed by the brand's in-house design studio there. Mokuri is a registered studio design that shows the brand's interest in process: the wooden mould is as much a part of the look as the recycled glass blown into it.
