The Ferm Living Rabbit Tufted Rug is hand-tufted in the shape of a sleeping rabbit, with contrasting pile heights and tonal colours giving the form depth and definition. Soft underfoot or hung on the wall, it works as a cosy floor covering and as a considered decorative piece for a child's room.
It is made from 80% New Zealand wool and 20% cotton, available in Off-white and Cashmere, and measures 88 x 120 x 3 cm at a weight of 4.0 kg. No wall mounting solution is included; two thin nails through the top corners are recommended, taking your wall type into account. Vacuum only, rotate the rug regularly and keep it away from open fire.

Shapes children recognise
The rugs are cut to the outline of their motif: a friendly polar bear, a leopard or tiger, a sleeping rabbit, an apple. Others are round, like the Arch rug, or a graphic rectangle, like Bloco, drawn from paper cuts and collages.
Two heights of pile
Many designs are tufted at two pile heights, so the outlines and details of each drawing stand out in relief, and tonal colours give the shapes depth. Panto has slightly raised shapes forming an asymmetric smiling face inspired by pantomime.
Sizes for any room
Arch comes Ø70 or Ø130 cm, Bloco 80 x 120 or 120 x 180 cm, Apple 110 x 110 cm, Rabbit 88 x 120 cm, and the polar bear and Safari rugs 118 x 160 cm. The high-pile Fruiticana Large measures 120 x 180 cm.

Ferm Living was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, who started out because she was missing wallpaper designs for her new house. The kids' tufted rugs are designed by the Ferm Living design studio in Copenhagen; the polar bear and Safari rugs are registered designs. Ferm Living works mainly with New Zealand wool.

Can the rug hang on a wall?
Yes, the shaped rugs work as wall hangings. No mounting hardware is included; two thin nails through the top corners are suggested, chosen for your wall type.
Why does the rug shed?
New wool rugs release loose fibres at first. Frequent vacuuming in the early weeks reduces shedding.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
No. Ferm Living wool rugs are for indoor use and should be kept out of damp areas such as bathrooms and cellars.
Is it safe near a candle or fire?
Keep the rugs away from open flame.
