The Shell Wall Candle Holder takes its shape from a seashell, with a curved lip at the base that cradles the candle and casts a soft, ambient light. Matte and glazed surfaces meet in a subtle contrast that adds depth to the form.
It is made from stoneware, unglazed underneath and glazed on top, measures 24 x 28 x 9.5 cm and comes in Off-white. Marks and variations may occur over time, as the material is natural. Extinguish the candle before it reaches the bottom of the cup, and never leave a lit candle out of sight.

Shell is a Ferm Living series in stoneware that borrows its curving, spiralling form from a nautilus shell. The pots, vase and wall candle holder pair a matte, unglazed surface with a glazed one, merging a natural shape with clean contemporary design.

Shaped by the sea

A nautilus in clay
The Shell Pot takes the spiral of a nautilus shell and turns it into a vessel. Its curved, sculptural form looks good with a few small flowers or a plant, or simply on its own on a shelf, windowsill or bedside table.
Three pots and a vase
The Shell Pot comes 31 cm wide, 23 cm and an extra small 11 cm, all matte outside and glazed inside. The Shell Vase is a taller, spacious sibling at 26.5 cm, made for a weekend bouquet.
Light from a shell
The Shell Wall Candle Holder hangs on the wall like a seashell. Unglazed underneath and glazed on top, its curved lip at the base cradles the candle and throws soft light across a bedside wall, a dining room or a hallway.

Ferm Living was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, who started out because she was missing wallpaper designs for her new house. Shell was developed by the Ferm Living design studio in Copenhagen, starting with the Shell Pot and growing into a vase and a wall candle holder. The Shell Vase is a registered design.
