Hand-tufted from pure New Zealand wool, the Skye Tufted Rug creates an inspiring atmosphere in a child's room. Scattered moons, stars and dots in earthy tones set up a calm visual rhythm, while the soft wool pile offers a cosy spot to play, read and rest.
It is made from 80% New Zealand wool and 20% cotton, measures 80 x 120 x 2 cm and comes in Cashmere. Vacuum only, frequently at first to remove natural shedding, and rotate the rug regularly. Keep it away from open fire.
Lay it beside a bed or under a play table, with other kids pieces from the Ferm Living collection.

Skye: moons, stars and planets for a child's room
DesignerFerm Living design studio
Skye is Ferm Living's kids' series inspired by the night sky. Moons, stars, planets and dots in warm, earthy tones run across a hand-tufted wool rug, an embroidered lamp and shade, a brushed cotton blanket, a mobile, soft baby toys and a wooden puzzle box.

One sky, many pieces
Rug, lamp, blanket, mobile and toys share one celestial theme and palette.
Soft light at night
The table lamp has a linen shade and a dimmer for a gentle glow.
Natural, certified materials
Organic cotton, GOTS linen, New Zealand wool and FSC™ wood.
Toys that build skills
The puzzle box trains fine motor skills as children match each shape.
A night sky indoors
Skye gathers moons, stars and planets into one gentle theme for the nursery or child's room. The colours stay earthy, Parchment, Cashmere, Tea Green, Sienna and Rose, so the pieces work together without overwhelming a small room.
Light for bedtime
The table lamp has a powder-coated base and a GOTS-certified linen shade with embroidered sky motifs, lit by a 12 V warm-white LED with a dimmer. The 45 cm embroidered textile lampshade is handmade over a steel frame for a ceiling light.
Rug, blanket and toys
The hand-tufted rug, 80 x 120 cm, is soft for play on the floor. The reversible blanket is brushed cotton. Three soft toys, a planet, star and moon, strap onto a pram, and the beech wood puzzle box suits children from 12 months.

Ferm Living was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by graphic designer Trine Andersen, who started out because she was missing wallpaper designs for her new house. Skye was developed by the Ferm Living design studio in Copenhagen as a kids' series around one theme, the night sky, so that textiles, light and toys can be combined in one room.
