Lessons from Ikebana
Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, values restraint: a few stems placed with intent, with space around them. Tereo follows that idea, with openings that hold individual stems where they are meant to stand.
Openings shaped by hand
The openings are formed by hand and edged with a texture like torn paper. Because each is made individually, no two vases are quite the same, and the glazed stoneware carries small variations of the handcrafted process.
Round and tall forms
The round vase measures about 22 x 18 x 22 cm, low and wide for a table. The tall vase is about 13.5 x 27 x 13 cm for a shelf or sideboard. Both are finished in Off-White Speckle and can be grouped.
