Forest Tales: a Nordic Christmas in oak and copper

Simpler Christmas values
Tools Design set out to take Christmas back to the simple celebrations many of us remember.
Made to last
Durable natural materials mean the ornaments return year after year.
Thoughtful leather details
The vegan leather loop becomes the mouse's tail and the sparrow's feet.
A tale for each
Every motif has its own short story, from the fallen sparrow to the clinging oak leaf.

A homage to Nordic nature
Forest Tales draws on the Christmas traditions of the North and the animals and plants of its forests. Tools Design chose copper, porcelain, oak and glass so the ornaments can be used again and again, the way lasting memories are made.

Animals of the forest
A sparrow and a mouse in light oak, an owl painted white, an acorn and a mushroom with snow-white parts. Each is about 4 cm, small enough for the tree, the window sill or a few branches in a vase.

Leaf and basket
The 8.5 cm oak leaf is cut in copper that reflects the light and gives it life. The 6 cm basket in clear borosilicate glass is a modern take on the paper cones and baskets once filled with sweets and hung on the tree.
Materials
- Oak and painted beech
- Wood ornaments should be kept dry and out of direct sunlight; wipe them with a dry cloth.
- Copper and porcelain
- The copper leaf reflects the light; wipe it and the porcelain pieces with a dry cloth and do not polish.
- Borosilicate glass
- The glass basket is light and robust; dust it with a soft dry cloth.
Tools Design is a design studio known for a simplified, innovative approach across electronics, medical equipment and household products, including Eva Solo's entire range. For Rosendahl it created Forest Tales, a Christmas range built on durable natural materials.
