Infinity: Maria Berntsen's mouth-blown mint glass vase
DesignerMaria Berntsen
Infinity is a mouth-blown glass vase by Danish designer Maria Berntsen for Rosendahl. It carries a sense of rhythm, flow and movement, yet is drawn in a strict geometric design language, and its soft mint glass suits many styles of home.

Geometry with movement
A strict geometric form that still reads as rhythm, flow and movement.
Soft mint colour
The tinted glass gives flowers a fresh, cool frame and glows on a sunny sill.
Room for a bouquet
At 15 cm across, the vase has space for a generous, rounded bunch.
A designer of glass
Maria Berntsen loves glass for its visual lightness and the way it catches and reflects light.

Rhythm in a strict form
Infinity is built on a strict geometric design language, yet the vase reads as rhythm, flow and movement. The result is simple and elegant, with a softly alluring surface that combines easily with many styles.

Mouth-blown mint glass
Each vase is mouth blown in mint coloured glass. Light shifts across the geometric surface through the day, so the vase looks good with fresh flowers, a single branch or standing empty on a window sill.

Two heights, one family
The 16 cm vase is 15 cm in diameter and suits a round bouquet on the dining table. A 20 cm version, 16 cm across, takes taller stems, and the two make a quiet, matching pair on a sideboard.
Materials
- Mouth-blown glass
- Hand-blown glass may show small bubbles or variations, a sign of the craft.
- Tinted glass
- The mint colour is in the glass itself and will not wear off.
- Hand wash only
- Infinity is not dishwasher safe; rinse with lukewarm water and a soft brush.
Maria Berntsen graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and the École d'Architecture de Bordeaux. She designs lighting, furniture and decoration, draws on architecture, nature and fashion, and loves glass for its lightness, as seen in Infinity and Rosendahl's Soft Spot.
Using it at home
Is the Infinity vase dishwasher safe?
No. Wash it by hand in lukewarm water and dry it with a lint-free cloth.
What size is it?
16 cm tall and 15 cm in diameter; the taller version is 20 cm by 16 cm.
Which flowers suit it?
Round bouquets of tulips, ranunculus or garden roses, cut to about one and a half times the vase height.
How do I remove water marks?
Fill it with lukewarm water and a little vinegar, leave it for an hour, then rinse and dry.
Is every vase identical?
Mouth-blown glass varies slightly in thickness and tone, so each vase is a little individual.
