The Marimekko Chopsticks set holds two pairs of chopsticks turned from rubber wood, each pair marked with a laser cut Marimekko logo. The wood keeps the pieces light in the hand and warm to the touch, and the logo is the only decoration, cut cleanly into the surface rather than printed on top of it.
They are made of 100% wood, rubber wood, in China, finished in Brown, and the material is food safe. Two pairs make the set ready for everyday meals at home, whether you are serving noodles, rice or small bites to share at the table.
Lay them out with plates and bowls from the Marimekko collection.

Rubber wood chopsticks with a laser-cut Marimekko logo
DesignerMarimekko design team
Two pairs of chopsticks turned from rubber wood, each marked at the top with a laser-cut Marimekko logo. The only decoration is the wordmark Marimekko has used since 1954, cut into the wood rather than printed on top, so the pieces stay plain, light and warm in the hand.

Light, warm wood
Rubber wood keeps the chopsticks light and pleasant to hold through a long meal.
Cut, not printed
The logo is laser cut into the surface, so there is no print layer to rub away.
Ready for two
Two pairs in one set, so a table for two is covered from the start.
A gift as it is
The set comes in a gift box, ready to hand over.

Wood for every day
The chopsticks are turned from rubber wood, a light timber that stays warm to the touch. The material is food safe, and the plain finish lets the grain do the work, so they suit a weekday noodle bowl as well as a laid table.

A logo from 1954
The Marimekko wordmark dates from 1954. Graphic designer Helge Mether-Borgström based it on modified Olivetti typewriter letters, because founder Armi Ratia wanted a simple mark. Here it is the only detail, laser cut at the top edge.

At the table
At 23 cm long, they suit rice bowls, noodles and shared dishes. They pair naturally with Marimekko's Oiva stoneware, whose small 3 dl bowl is described as a rice bowl. Rest them across the bowl between bites.
Materials
- Rubber wood
- A light, food safe hardwood that feels warm in the hand.
- Laser-cut logo
- Cut into the wood rather than printed, so it does not peel.
- Hand wash only
- Wash by hand and dry straight away; wood should not soak or go in the dishwasher.
Marimekko was founded in Helsinki in 1951 by Armi and Viljo Ratia. Its logo arrived in 1954, drawn by graphic designer Helge Mether-Borgström from Olivetti typewriter letters. Small everyday objects like these chopsticks carry that mark on its own, without a print.
Using it at home
Can they go in the dishwasher?
No. They are hand wash only; rinse them in warm water with a little washing-up liquid and dry them right away.
How long are they?
Each chopstick is about 23 cm long.
Are they food safe?
Yes, the rubber wood is food safe.
How many come in the set?
Two pairs, packed in a gift box.
How do I keep the wood in good shape?
Do not leave them soaking, and let them dry fully before putting them away.
