The Marimekko Cushion Insert gives a printed cover its shape, a plain rectangular pad made to sit inside the 40 x 60 cm covers in the collection. It is the piece you never see, so it is built simply and well.
The casing is 100% cotton and the padding is 100% polyester. The insert measures 40 x 60 cm and comes in White. Wash with plenty of water and use a third of the normal amount of liquid detergent. Made in Turkey.
Buy one for each cover you own so covers can be changed with the seasons, and browse the cushion covers in the Marimekko collection.

Fits the covers
Sized to match Marimekko's square and rectangular cushion covers.
Cotton casing
Breathable cotton outside, organic cotton on the square insert.
Recycled filling
The 50 x 50 cm insert is filled with recycled polyester.
Washable
Both inserts go in the machine.
The piece you never see
An insert decides how a cushion looks on a sofa or bed. These are built simply, a cotton casing filled with polyester, so the printed cover keeps a full, even shape. They come plain white so no colour shows through a light cover.
Two shapes
The 50 x 50 cm square suits covers in Unikko, Tiiliskivi, Räsymatto and Piirto Ketunmarja. The 40 x 60 cm rectangle suits long covers such as Tiiliskivi and Piirto Unikko, for a reading chair or bed.
Washing an insert
Wash with plenty of water and a third of the normal amount of liquid detergent. Shake the insert into shape and turn it while it dries so the filling spreads evenly and keeps its loft.

- Cotton casing
- Breathable outer cloth; organic cotton on the square insert.
- Polyester filling

Marimekko was founded in Helsinki in 1951 and makes cushion covers in many of its prints, from Armi Ratia's Tiiliskivi to Maija Isola's Unikko. These inserts are the plain companion to those covers, made in the two sizes the collection uses.
