The Marimekko Tiise Cosmetic Bag is a small rectangular case in a cotton and linen blend, decorated with the Mini Unikko pattern and closed with a zip. Unikko was born in 1964, at a time when Marimekko collections held almost no floral designs. Maija Isola was fascinated by flowers and drew a whole range of novel floral prints, and the poppy has stood for creativity ever since.
The main fabric is 48% cotton, 31% cotton and 21% linen, containing 46% recycled cotton, 33% organic cotton and 21% recycled linen, while the lining is 100% recycled polyester. It is Oeko-Tex certified and comes in White / Red, White / Black and Off-White / Dark Blue. Wash with like colours and follow the washing temperature given. Made in Estonia.
Use it for make-up, charging cables or pencils, and see the larger Vilja bag in the Marimekko collection.

Kukkaro frame purses and pouches in Marimekko prints
DesignerMarimekko design team
The Kukkaro purses are Marimekko classics: printed cotton set into a metal frame that snaps open and shut with one hand, printed in Helsinki and sewn in Kitee, Finland. Zip cosmetic bags in five sizes join them, in Mini Unikko, Räsymatto, Pieni Siirtolapuutarha and Pieni Tiiliskivi.

Made in Finland
Kukkaro purses are printed in Helsinki and sewn in Kitee.
Upcycled options
Random assortment purses use leftover fabric, a different print on each side.
Bags for every kit
From the small Kaika pouch to the roomy Vilja and Relle with brush places.

The Kukkaro family
Pieni Kukkaro is the small coin purse. Puolikas Kukkaro holds daily essentials. Silmälasi Kukkaro, the long narrow one, is shaped for glasses. All three close with a metal snap frame.

Four prints
Mini Unikko is the small version of Maija Isola's 1964 poppy. Räsymatto and Pieni Siirtolapuutarha are Maija Louekari's 2009 allotment prints. Pieni Tiiliskivi is the small brick grid founder Armi Ratia drew in 1952.

Bags for the bathroom shelf
Kaika is the smallest pouch, Tiise a compact rectangle. Vilja is roomy with two pockets and places for brushes, Kaje has two pockets, and Relle has four. Fabrics range from coated cotton to recycled polyester.
Materials
- Printed cotton
- Kukkaro purses are cotton with cotton lining; spot clean to keep the frame dry.
- Recycled polyester
- Mini Unikko and Pieni Tiiliskivi bags; wipe clean inside and out.
- Cotton linen with repellent finish
- Räsymatto bags resist dirt; wipe spills straight away.
Marimekko was founded in Helsinki in 1951. Its small accessories carry prints by founder Armi Ratia, Maija Isola and Maija Louekari, and the Kukkaro purses are still printed in Helsinki and sewn in Kitee in eastern Finland.
