The Marimekko Unikko Tray is a large round tray in laminated birch plywood, printed with the Unikko poppy on the face and left in natural plywood on the reverse, which keeps it light enough to carry fully loaded. Unikko dates from 1964, when Marimekko collections held almost no florals: Maija Isola was drawn to the theme and designed a complete range of new floral prints, and the poppy now stands for creativity.
It is made in Sweden from certified birch plywood, measures 46 cm across and is food safe. The tray comes in Plum / Cranberry / Off-White / Rose. Wipe it with a damp cloth or wash by hand, and do not soak it.
Use it to carry coffee to the sofa, or leave it on a side table as a surface for candles and glasses, and see the other Unikko pieces in the Marimekko collection.
