The PH 2/1 Pendant is the smallest pendant in Poul Henningsen's three-shade system, developed with Louis Poulsen in 1925–26 after his gold-medal success at the Paris Exposition. A 20 cm top shade and matching lower shades in mouth-blown white opal glass — sandblasted on the undersides for uniform light distribution — reflect all light downwards along logarithmic-spiral curves, so the bulb never meets the eye.
Its modest diameter is its strength: hung low over a small dining table, kitchen counter or bedside, this pendant lamp gives comfortable, shadow-soft light without dominating the room, and a pair or trio at staggered heights turns quietly sculptural.
