To supplement the new dishes and the other elements in the Rhombe Color series, Lyngby Porcelæn is now launching matching candle holders in green, yellow and pink, uniting form, function and elegance. Think creatively and use the candle holders not only on the dining table, but also throughout the home: for example, on a coffee table, bedside table or small side table. Like all elements in the Rhombe Color series, the candle holders feature the familiar rhomboid pattern, which you can both see and feel. Rhombe Color adds colour to Lyngby Porcelæn's Rhombe service. The design duo Stilleben, Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft, chose glazes that go well with food and with each other, so that a table set with many pieces looks like a painting from above.

A table like a painting
Early on, Stilleben set a dogma: a table laid with different Rhombe Color pieces should look like a painting seen from above. To get that dynamic they worked with both a warm and a cold colour scale.
Colours from far away
The duo wanted a richer palette than classic Nordic tones, inspired by South America and Mexico, and by Japan's mastery of contrast. Each colour has a natural quality, from sunflower yellow to cobalt blue.
Mix, match and move
The range covers plates, soup plates, bowls, serving bowls and dishes, mugs, a milk jug, a sauce boat, egg cups and candle holders. Move pieces around and the picture on the table changes.

Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft both graduated from the Danish Design School in 2001, specialising in ceramics and glass. As Stilleben they combine respect for tradition with the boldness to innovate. Rhombe Color is one of Lyngby Porcelæn's greatest recent successes; for Kähler they designed Omaggio.
Using it at home
Can I combine colours?
Yes. The palette is designed so any two colours can sit side by side without clashing.
Does it fit white Rhombe?
Yes. Sizes and shapes are shared, so coloured pieces mix with the white service and Rhombe Earth.
Why can the colour look darker in places?
The glaze collects in the hollows of the relief, which makes the rhombus pattern stand out.
How big is it?
It is 3 cm tall with a diameter of 10.5 cm.
Where should I place it with a lit candle?
Set it on a stable, heat-tolerant surface away from anything flammable, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
