The Rumee 220 Portable Lamp, designed by Gabriel Tan for Louis Poulsen, takes its sculptural cue from the wavy curves of a broad-brimmed hat — and its name from a blend of Danish and English: “rum” (room) plus “me”, echoing “roomie”. True to the company's glare-free philosophy forged with Poul Henningsen, it delivers a soft, downward-directed glow that flatters faces and surfaces, so a board game, bedtime story or quiet drink happens in light that feels considered.
