The PH 3/2 Academy, introduced by Louis Poulsen in 2000 and named after the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, mounts three sets of Poul Henningsen's classic opal-glass shades close to the ceiling. The 1926 numbering tells the geometry — a 30 cm top shade over the 2-class lower shades — and every curve follows the logarithmic spiral, preserving Henningsen's scientific, glare-free light distribution where hanging height is scarce.
That makes the Academy one of the most apartment-friendly lamps in the PH range: in hallways, entryways, bedrooms or over a dining nook with standard 2.3–2.4 m ceilings, it delivers the warm, layered PH glow without ever being in the way. If your ceilings allow a suspended fixture, compare our pendant lamps, or read the guide to designer lighting for small apartments.
Light source: E14, 3 bulbs, max 40 W each. IP20, indoor. Bulbs not included.
