EB 28 Buquet Table Lamp

Another variant of Buquet's 1927 concept, the EB 28 keeps the trademark articulated arms and weight-based balance. TECNOLUMEN's silver- or nickel-plated brass finish delivers a refined industrial style with near-endless positioning of the small reflector — function and elegance in the spirit of Bauhaus-era experimentation. Each lamp is stamped with a unique number and the TECNOLUMEN insignia.

Édouard-Wilfred Buquet patented his articulated lamp in Paris in 1927, at a moment when electric task lighting was still finding its modern form. His system of counterweights and pivoting arms allowed the reflector to hold virtually any position without springs or clamps, and the lamps soon appeared on the desks of avant-garde architects and designers of the late 1920s. Original Buquet lamps are rare collector and museum pieces today, which is why TECNOLUMEN of Bremen — the German manufactory devoted to faithful reissues of early modernist lighting — produces the EB 28 under licence, each example individually numbered and stamped. With its slender silhouette and precise, glare-free task light, the EB 28 is a natural companion for the writing desk, the reading chair or a console in the hallway.
