Fun Pendant 11DM Brass

The Fun 11DM Brass is a large pendant with a five-ring brass-finish frame, part of Verner Panton's iconic Fun collection, known for its timeless design since 1964.

Verner Panton (1926–1998) spent his career proving that Danish design could be playful as well as disciplined. After early years assisting Arne Jacobsen, he struck out on his own with experiments in colour, plastics and total environments — yet for the Fun series of 1964 he turned to one of nature's oldest materials: mother-of-pearl. Thin discs of shell are cut by hand and suspended in overlapping tiers, where they scatter light like sun on water and stir with a gentle, chime-like sound at the slightest breeze. Every shell carries its own iridescence, so no two lamps are quite alike. In the 11DM Brass, five rings of cascading pearl meet a warm brass-finish frame that deepens the golden tones in the shell — the most opulent expression of the series' warmer side. With its generous five-tier drop, the Fun 11DM Brass thrives where it can be seen at full length: above a dining table, in a stairwell or anchoring a lofty living space. Brass and pearl glow rather than sparkle, flattering interiors rich in walnut, velvet, leather or terracotta. In compact city apartments, hang it low over the table — the cascade becomes a chandelier-like centrepiece rather than an obstruction, and its reflective shells carry warm light into corners daylight rarely reaches.
