The Patera Oval flattens Øivind Slaatto's celebrated sphere into an ellipsoid — the Patera for rooms where ceiling height is at a premium. Like the original he designed with Louis Poulsen in 2015, it is built from hundreds of diamond-shaped cells arranged along a Fibonacci spiral, each angled to capture light and conceal the source above 40 degrees, while the round bottom opening adds direct light over the table with a smooth transition to the glowing surface.
Hung over a dining table it reads as a luminous centrepiece rather than a hanging obstacle, flattering food and faces alike; it is equally at home above a bed or in a stairwell where the pattern can be admired up close. Explore the Louis Poulsen collection or more sculptural pendant lamps.
