The Patera Pendant, designed by Øivind Slaatto for Louis Poulsen in 2015, reimagines the chandelier as a glowing sphere of small diamond-shaped cells arranged along a Fibonacci spiral — the pattern of sunflower heads and pine cones. Each hand-assembled cell captures light and shields the bulb from viewing angles above 45 degrees, so the sphere glows evenly, entirely without glare.
Because the Patera radiates softly in every direction, this pendant lamp suits open-plan living areas, stair voids and dining spaces alike, looking finished from any angle. A single sphere creates an intimate halo over a round table; a cluster at staggered heights becomes the starry sky Slaatto intended. Four sizes span Ø 300 to Ø 900 mm.
