TLWS 04 Table Lamp

Designed by Walter Schnepel in 2003, the TLWS 04 pairs a cylindrical opal-glass diffuser with a nickel-plated base for an even, calming glow. A pull switch keeps it user-friendly while preserving the minimalist profile — balanced geometry true to TECNOLUMEN's Bauhaus heritage. Every lamp bears a unique serial number and the TECNOLUMEN mark.

Walter Schnepel is best known as the founder of TECNOLUMEN, the Bremen manufactory he established in 1980 to produce the first authorised re-edition of Wilhelm Wagenfeld's famous Bauhaus table lamp. Decades spent manufacturing the modernist canon to exacting standards eventually sharpened his own design voice, and the TLWS series, created under his own name in the 2000s, distils that experience: elementary volumes, honest materials, and not a single gesture added for effect. In the TLWS 04, a softly glowing opal-glass cylinder rests on a slim nickel-plated column and circular foot — a composition of pure geometric primitives that would have been at home in the Dessau workshops. The pull switch is a quietly deliberate touch, a small mechanical ritual in place of an anonymous inline dimmer, echoing the tactile honesty the Bauhaus prized.
