The Yuh Table Lamp by GamFratesi — the Copenhagen studio of Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi — continues the Louis Poulsen principle that a lamp should shape light, not merely hold a bulb. Designed in 2017, its cylindrical shade throws a glare-free cone of light downward while a slim top opening releases a soft ambient glow; the shade rotates 360° and slides along its brass stem, and the name, echoing “you”, says what it is for.
On a bedside table, lower the shade toward your book to read without disturbing a partner; on a desk, raise it for a wider pool; on a console, turn it to the wall for indirect evening light.
